Dairy Cattle & Pedigree Livestock

One of the major departments within the business is the sale of Dairy Cattle and Pedigree Livestock.  In recent years we have increased our market share dramatically and sell by auction more pedigree and commercial diary cattle than any other firm in the UK.  This department is the direct responsibility of Partner Clive Norbury and his Senior Assistant Stuart Hassall who also share the rostrum duties and conduct most of the sales.

This rapid growth has no doubt been partly due to our geographic situation, being at the heart of one of the UK’s largest milk fields and being so accessible from every direction whether by road, rail or air.  It is also due to the dedicated and very efficient team who work behind the scenes and ensure the operation runs smoothly.

The majority of cattle are black and whites.  However, big in-roads have been made into the coloured breeds and we are particularly prominent in the sales of Ayrshires, Jerseys and Brown Swiss.

Diversification seems to be a common place word these days and we too are keen to diverisfy into the sales of Pedigree Beef Cattle and Pedigree Sheep.  We have been selling Pedigree Suffolks for several years but are keen to add other breeds in 2009.  We also intend to conduct sales of Pedigree Beef Breeds and an inaugural sale will take place in the Spring of 2009.
