The Pedigree Livestock Department is at the core of the Wright Manley livestock agri-business.  Prior to Foot and Mouth it operated the largest regular multi-consigner sales of fresh pedigree holstein cows and heifers under the auspices of the Western Holstein Club.  It was a regular occurrence to have in excess of 200 cattle entered at our sale which always took place on the last Thursday of every month.

Since our market reopened in the Spring of 2002, the Club sales are back up and running successfully and gaining more numbers every sale. Quality is also up to its high standard and the Club sales again offer the widest and largest choice of fresh young cows and heifers ideally suited for either pedigree or commercial milk producers, anywhere in the UK.

In the pedigree world, we are amongst the leading firms conducting dispersal and reduction sales on behalf of our clients, and in recent history have sold many leading herds and individuals of the breed.  But it is not only pedigree stock on offer. Holsteins dominate numerically but Ayrshires, Shorthorns, Guernseys, Jerseys and Brown Swiss seem to be making an ever increasing impression on the business.  Herd sales are conducted anywhere throughout the Country or in our modern and recently completely refurbished premises at Beeston Castle Auction, Cheshire, there the cattle have comfortable housing with individual water and milking facilities.

We have further developed Wright Manley Direct for the private treaty sale of livestock direct from farm to farm.  This will become an increasingly important part of our business, not only now, but also when auctions are back up and running, as we feel they ideally compliment each other.
